Weekend Escapades

Well, the weekend was a good time. Not as restful as I would have liked, but we had a good time.

Friday night after work we had a bunch of the guys from class over. We went to Pizza Delight for dinner, then bummed around the apartment.

At about 8 o’clock we headed down to the movie theatre. We had tickets for the 9:40 showing of Spider-Man 3, and since it was opening weekend, we knew it would be packed. One of the guys actually didn’t show up ’til later, because he didn’t want to wait (or really thought we needed to). We were smart to be there when we were! We were about the third group in line, so we got awesome seats at the back of the theatre. …The manager was a jerk, though, and I still need to file a complaint on the Empire Theatres website.

The movie was good! I know a lot of people are going to complain that there was too much going on, and too many storylines, but I really liked it. I mean, I like Spider-Man anyway, so I was somewhat destined to enjoy it.

We got home at around midnight. I fell asleep 1.5 hours later - I’d been up all day working! It wears a girl out ;) The guys stayed up playing SNES and whatnot. Two of them stayed the night; Addison got to bed around 4:30. Good times in the Maritimes.

We watched Fargo on Saturday night. Addison bought it; he’d seen it before. I hadn’t. It was … odd, I guess you could say.

Yesterday (Sunday) we drove up to Pennfield to have dinner at a seafood restaurant with Mum and Patrick (Mum’s husband). It was good, but I was violently ill a couple hours after we got home! Very unpleasant.

Well, that’s all she wrote. I’ve got to try to make sense of the database here - UGH.

Wootsauce, I wanted to see Spiderman. I will at some point though. Plus lots of plotlines is cool, almost like a Lost movie.

    I wanna see PIRATES!!!

Indeed; I too want to see Pirates. I heart Johnny Depp.

Did you figure out that database yet? I’m assuming you meant the one there where you work. The one here at HSJ is… scary. :D I should show you sometime.

UGH, the database at work is TERRIBLE. I don’t even have SQL yet (I don’t even have a COMPUTER yet), so I can’t see any of the foreign keys! I mean, two tables look like they don’t even have PRIMARY keys. I BE RIPPIN’ OUT MAH HAIRZORZ.

oooh man you have GOT to show me the HSJ database the next time I come up.

Actully, it really is kinda cool how all site/blog info is stored in the database and not in the server filesystem. :D makes one HUGE db though.
You can have a look and see if you see the same places that need optimizing as we do. ;)
